Beaver Pond Farm is situated in Newport New Hampshire just off of John Stark Highway within Sullivan County. Starting in July, SNAP customers can get 50% off produce at the farm store with Granite State Market Match. Pulling up to the little red barn one can get lost in the vibrance of local food and seasonal blooms. Once inside the options are endless, everything from fruits and vegetables, to meats, baked goods, dairy, maple, ice cream, candy, sauces, popcorn, and so much more! You can literally get all your grocery shopping done in one stop.
The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The owner, Becky, is the eighth generation of her family to run the farm, and Beaver Pond Farm has been around since 1780. It started on 100 acres of land, and the farm now has 265 acres of land! Pick-Your-Own raspberries are available starting in July and run through July or August (Hours are 8AM-6PM). Blueberry picking begins in late July. SNAP/EBT and Granite State Market Match can be used on pick-your-own produce!Ā
Make sure to stock up while in season as that is when produce is the freshest and most affordable. If you are easily overwhelmed by the quantity, berries are among the easiest things to freeze for later. Wash your berries, dry them, lay them on a flat tray in one layer and freeze them, remove them from the tray and place in a freezer bag or container. Following these steps, and you can enjoy a burst of summer flavor up to four to six months from now!Ā
The farm also participates in other New Hampshire Food Bank programming including school meals and New Hampshire Feeding New Hampshire. Owner Becky is passionate about supporting the community and so are her customers. They even have a cup for donations to the New Hampshire Food Bank on their register counter. Make sure to stop by the fenced area after your visit. Their goat cuties are beyond photogenic and friendly.Ā
