Johnson Golden Harvest is located on 412 West River Rd. in Hooksett within Merrimack County. “Local Foods from Local Farms” is their tagline and it rings true for everything at the farm market. The store has been accepting SNAP/EBT for a while but is now able to give 50% off of fresh fruits and vegetables with Granite State Market Match. The owners, Karen and Brian Johnson, started the shared venture back in 2009 under a tent in Pembroke. They soon had multiple farms involved and knew they had really started something special. Due to the tumultuous and unpredictable weather that New England has to offer, being outside year round wasn’t really an option, so they renovated a shed for the farm market. However, they soon realized the location wasn’t working and the following year in 2010 opened their store in Hooksett and have been open ever since.
Johnson Golden Harvest is truly a one stop grocery stop in the local community that supports a large range of local producers and growers in the area. From vegetables and fruits, to cheese, maple syrup, ice cream, pasta, sauces, honey, bee pollen, jams, jellies, pickles, meats, chicken, elderberry syrup, and so much more-the store truly has something for everyone! The farm market is open year-round with the following hours: Monday-Friday 10:30AM-6:00PM, Saturday: 10:30AM-5:00PM, and Sunday: 11:00AM-5:00PM.
